On August 9, 2005,  Pastor Waite underwent a hip replacement surgery.   He has been the President of the Dean Burgon Society since 1978;  is the founder and director of the Bible For Today; is currently serving as Pastor of the Bible For Today Baptist Church.

The surgeon, Dr. Eric Hume M.D., who preformed the joint replacement surgery, stated that the procedure went smoothly with no surprises. The entire operation lasted one hundred minutes. Recovery time is expected to be about six weeks.  Please pray for a fast recovery.  Dr. Waite is expected to return to his residence to continue physical therapy.

Dr. Hume believes that Pastor Waite will "bounce back" from the procedure quickly.

Progress:

8/10/05 -- Walked ten to twelve feet and  was able to sit in chair 

8/11/05 -- Walked eighty feet and sat in chair

8/12/05 -- Walked four-hundred feet, sat in chair, and ascended & descended a flight of stairs

Update On Pastor Waite As of 8/12/05

Foot Notes:

From Dr. Waite's Window two suspension bridges that span the Delaware river  can be seen, three historic vessels (USS Constitution, USS New Jersey, and an unknown tall ship at Penn's Landing), and at least two ball fields in the city of Philadelphia.

Parking at the Cooper University Hospital ranges from twenty-five cents for on street parking and from $2.00  for garage parking.
