Deuteronomy
16:13–Deuteronomy 20:12
WIZARDS ARE
WRONG
Deuteronomy
18:10–12
"There shall not
be found among you anyone that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth
divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or
a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar
spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For a ll that do
these things are an abomination unto the LORD. . . "
In this day and age when young people, as well as
their parents, are seeking after a "new thing"
with new experiences and different views that are
contrary to the Scriptures, it is wise to warn them not
to seek after those that have familiar spirits and from
wizards that peep and mutter (Isaiah 8:19). The LORD God
warned His people earlier of the damage that such
associations could bring into the heart and minds of
young people.
We see such a warning in today’s meditation. Moses
warned of devilish associations! The children of Israel
would see such Satanic manifestations as they came into
the Canaan Land. That was another reason for the young
people not to marry those nationals who had lived in the
land all those years–-another reason to be Holy as God
was Holy. ("Holy" means separate.)
Have you consulted a palm reader? Do you look at the
daily horoscope and follow that advice? Do you use a
diviner rod? Do you use a Ouija Board? Are you reading
books about wizards and vampires? How about playing
cards that tell the future? Whatever–you are tampering
with "familiar spirits" or "fortune telling."
Stop it! It is more dangerous than you can ever
imagine! (ysw)
(Psalm 23;
Philippians 3:13; Romans 8:32)
I reach for
these things in anticipation.
THERE IS A TABLE
BEFORE ME!
Wonderful things
are in prospect for the Christian who feasts at His
Table.
How freely He
has given us all things in Christ to feast and
feed upon.
I WILL NOT FEAR
TOMORROW
It is all before
me once more, as I step
out upon a new year and press on toward
the things.
1. Things
before me in readiness, as stated in
God’s Word.
2. Things
before me in readiness–ours at our
new birth.
3. Things
before me in a prepared love, as in
Song of Solomon 4:4.
4. Things
before me in a personal way, just
for me.
5. Before me
FOR TODAY–every hour and for all my
tomorrow. (GGS)
