NO UNHOLY UNIONS

Deuteronomy 7:3

"Neither shalt not make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his sons, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son."

God’s chosen people were called out from all nations to be a separate and distinct people. This was God’s choice! Being a jealous God, He did not want His chosen people mingled with those who worshipped other gods. He wanted His people to be wholly for Him. They were to be HOLYseparated to Him.

When mixed marriages would occur, the Hebrew line would become contaminated. Not only would the race change, but the religion would change. We see this clearly, as time went on, with Solomon and his many marriages bringing about political alliances with heathen countries. God did not want this!

Moses instructed the people, "Do not make marriages with the people in the land." One of the reasons God wanted the Canaanites destroyed was their filthy heathen ways. They were morally like animals, and spiritually, they were abusive and vile. The children of Israel were to be a peculiar, separated people in word and deed–and especially in marriage. This was God’s will!

Today we see mixed marriages all about–not only in interracial unions but in intro-religious unions. This is a most difficult phenomenon causing much division in families, as well as heartache for the children who will be born to such unions. (ysw)

"IF I HAVE FOUND GRACE IN THY SIGHT"

Shew me Thy way, that I might know Thee.

"That I might know Him,"

and to know Him better is the longing of ever submissive heart.

We learn of Him in the Bible –in things written aforetime.

The Holy Spirit shows us.

We learn of Him in affliction, for He is so nigh!

(Exodus 33:13; Philippians 3:10)

And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.  And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son.  (Genesis 18:10)
